Install
For the complete and recommended experience on Linux, macOS, and Windows, run the single install script provided below.
Warning
You do not need to download or install REAPER separately and you shouldn't try to install ReaClassical inside an existing REAPER setup — ReaClassical comes bundled with its own fully-configured REAPER environment.
Easy Complete Portable Installation (official method)
The installer script is the only official way to install ReaClassical. It sets up a self-contained REAPER together with the required extensions, the ReaClassical resource folder and the right settings in one step. Adding the ReaClassical ReaPack repository to an existing REAPER on its own is not supported. ReaPack is used only afterwards, to keep an installed ReaClassical up to date (see Updating); the installer sets that up for you.
Copy the command for your operating system into either your terminal (MacOS and Linux) or PowerShell (Windows).
MacOS:
curl --proto '=https' --tlsv1.2 -sSf https://reaclassical.com/macos | sh
Linux:
curl --proto '=https' --tlsv1.2 -sSf https://reaclassical.com/linux | sh
Windows:
irm "https://reaclassical.com/win" | iex
The installer needs an internet connection. It asks where to install (the default is your Desktop on macOS and Linux; Windows shows a folder chooser) and creates a self-contained folder named ReaClassical_<version> there. It then downloads the REAPER version ReaClassical has been tested with, the ReaClassical resource folder and the correct plugins for your operating system and processor architecture, and sets everything up. Nothing is installed system-wide.
Tip
Note that if the ReaClassical folder already exists, the installer will automatically add a unique suffix to ensure nothing is overwritten.
First Run
Launch REAPER from the new ReaClassical folder. There is no license key, account or activation step: you can start working straight away, for example by creating your first project with Ctrl+N (Cmd+N on macOS).
Screen reader users (Clara)
Install ReaClassical Clara, the accessibility bridge, by typing clara into the Terminal (Ctrl+Enter). See Using ReaClassical with a Screen Reader.
